Our ever popular Winter Dressage season resumed on 22nd October ...
CDRC is a very active Riding Club with members living predominately in the Tynedale area. Run by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers who meet monthly, CDRC is committed to organising a varied events calendar for its members. We aim to provide something for everyone, from the less experienced combinations to those competing at affiliated levels.
We are fortunate to have a diverse range of facilities for club use. During the winter months we retreat indoors to the new arena at Parkend near Simonburn or to Mount Huly Farm which nestles in the Tyne Valley near the village of Horsley. Spring and summer find us out and about at locations such as High Plains, Angerton Steads Training Arena, Kirkley Hall and jumping off grass at Mainsbank Farm to name a few.
Over the years the club has developed good relationships with experienced local instructors most of whom compete at affiliated level in dressage, eventing and/or BSJA show jumping. We also welcome visiting instructors for special clinics and the annual camp at Kingwater E.C.
As a member of BRC Area 2 the club annually enters teams across the disciplines to compete at the Area Qualifiers and our members have successfully represented us at National Finals and Championships. However, some people prefer to start at the more informal Winter League Team Competitions, a series run between clubs in Area 2 from December to March. (click here for team form and information…)
CDRC runs a Members Points League whereby from November to October of the following year points are allocated at Club competitions. The overall winner receives a trophy and training voucher with special rosettes being awarded to 10th place. Rosettes are also given for Show Jumping and Dressage Points. The presentations take place at the AGM each year.
We hope we can help you enjoy riding and being with your horse.
